The History Of
How Cornerstone Started
n 2001 the Lord placed a desire in Mechele Rodgers heart to not only work in the early education field, but to own and create preschools that glorify Him. In 2002, her journey of preschool ownership began with Cordova Christian Learning Center. In just a few short years, we outgrew that location and Mrs. Rodgers looked to the Lord to guide her next steps. In 2009 we moved into our new location and the name of the school was changed to Cordova Christian Academy. We serviced over 300 students ranging from 6 weeks old through 6th grade! In 2013 the Lord laid it upon Mrs. Rodgers heart to sell the original location and move forward with Cornerstone Learning Center alone. In late summer of 2012 Cornerstone Learning Center was born, and we have since expanded to four locations servicing Memphis and surrounding areas.
Mrs. Rodgers passion for the Lord and early childhood education has created a brand of schools that provides the best quality, Christian childcare in our area. She and her leadership team continually strive to better educate themselves and the program, seeking to ensure its standards and staff members are committed to excellence in all areas.

My daughter has attended CLC since she was 13 weeks old and we absolutely love it! I couldn’t imagine my child anywhere else. All of the teachers and staff are incredibly friendly and you really feel like you are part of a family. So many of the same faces are still there now and my daughter is 4 & ½ so it’s a comforting feeling knowing these same people have watched my child grow and develop. We’ve made great relationships that extend well beyond the school walls & I love that my daughter is learning Christian values and principles!
