In Pre-K your child will begin to have a better understanding of our Bible lesson which leads to a deeper relationship with the Lord. We utilize the Abeka Christian Curriculum Bible Program. Nondenominational Bible stories are taught daily, and the class holds a discussion on what the story means. The goal of discussions is to further your child’s understanding of Jesus Christ and the love he has for each one of us. Your child can deepen their faith in God while attending our Pre-K program, building a strong foundation on which to build a Christian life.

“Self regulation is the key to school readiness and more powerful than IQ as a predictor of academic achievement.” – Becky Bailey, PhD
Fanny the puppet is an integral part of implementing the activities for our students.
Fanny is the frog ambassador for the curriculum and will be used to engage students in our activities.
LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT - This domain incorporates engaging read-a-louds, vocabulary skills, formal introduction to the alphabet, phonological awareness, and writing skills. Engaging books from our literacy library, vocabulary cards, photo activity cards, alphabet stories, compound word cards, and hands-on activity cards are just some of the many tools used to foster language development in our threes.
FOUNDATIONAL MATH - Math skills are presented throughout the program along a continuum that allows children to take what they know about one concept and apply it to the next. Each week a skill is highlighted and activities are provided so children can practice that skill in different context and with a variety of materials.
STEAM - STEAM lessons are offered weekly. STEAM is an acronym for Science. Technology.
Engineering. Arts. & Math. Steam activities combine various disciplines to develop
deeper mathematical and scientific foundations that children will need to be competitive
in the workforce as they mature into adults. STEAM activities also develop thinking, reasoning, teamwork, investigative and creative skills.
Practice centers are small group workstations. Children work independently with materials on tasks that are specifically designed to support daily objectives and concepts. Centers provide children an opportunity and place for children to practice important skills, as well as, interact with their peers.
We are proud of our pre-k classrooms and the wonderful activities we are doing with the children. Each month, parents will receive a Frog Street Newsletter & PATT (Parents Are Teachers Too) with information about what we are working on at school and things to try at home that will enhance what your child is learning. Our ProCare Parent app gives you information about your child’s day straight to your phone or computer. Teachers can send photos, information about what your child is learning, events, meals, diapering/toileting, and more. This is a great tool to keep lines of communication open with your child’s teacher. Of course, our teachers are always available face-to-face with our open-door policy!
